By-election for a Council seat in Cranbrook Ward, Ilford South

Ilford South Labour Party reports that: “Due to the sudden death of Conservative Cllr. Elliman, there is a by election for a Council seat in Cranbrook Ward on Thursday 10 July. Labour has selected local campaigner Barbara White to fight the seat.

Labour has campaigned against many of this Conservative Council’s recent actions, such as their attempt to sell off allotment sites, their closure of the Mildmay Day Centre and cuts in services to the elderly generally, their planned closure of Ilford Swimming Pool with no projected replacement, their inactivity in pursuing the plans for regenerating the Town Centre and the general lack of cleanliness throughout Ilford.”
