A blogger on LabourHome has suggested that the Conservatives might have a conflict of interest concerning Congo:
“The current crisis in the Congo is in no small part driven by the competing interests of mineral companies.
One such company is ‘Cluff Gold’ which has interests across the region, of which some mining operations are dormant and under threat.
Cluff Gold has been providing funds to the office of Andrew Mitchell the Tories’ shadow for International Development. There is possibly a conflict of interest here which could do with closer scrutiny.”
