Ex-Tory MP uses Labour candidate’s photo for Tory leaflets

A row has broken out between the Labour and Conservative candidates for South West Devon after the Conservatives used a photo taken by Luke Pollard, Labour’s candidate, on Conservative leaflets.

To add insult to injury, Luke Pollard was cropped off the image used by the Tories as they claim to be behind the campaign against an incinerator being built locally. Some are now asking whether this can really the case after the cheeky Conservaives’ pilfering was discovered.

Writing on his blog, Luke Pollard said: “I have no problem with other people using the picture – I’m a big believer in sharing content – but when it involves cutting your opponent out of the image then that’s a bit naughty – especially when I was that person who took the picture (the self-timer on my camera is a wonderful thing).”

Luke has asked for an apology from his Conservative opponent, Gary Streeter, telling Labour Matters: “The picture has been cropped with the intention of deliberately excluding me – Gary’s better than this and it does him no credit.”

No apology has yet been provided by the Conservatives.
