Gordon woos America with a message of recovery and unity

To the chagrin of the Tory blogosphere, Gordon Brown has become only the fifth UK Prime Minster to address both houses of the US Congress; delivering a message of hope and recovery based on a unified solution to the global downturn.

A video of the whole 30 minute speech, care of Number 10 TV, is reproduced on our homepage, but the key quote is this:

“My father was a Minister of the church, and I have learned again what I was taught by him: that wealth must help more than the wealthy, good fortune must serve more than the fortunate, and riches must enrich not just some of us, but all.”

Only a Labour PM would dare deliver such lines to the lawmakers of the largest capitalist economy in the world! Nice one Gordon!
