A Labour Matters reader informs us of a claim by the Scottish National Party candidate for the Glasgow East by-election that “500 activists” joined him and Alex Salmond at a recent rally. Unfortunately the SNP propaganda is embarrassingly shown to be just that because they published a photograph of the rally and the best estimate of the attendance shown is only 150 strong. It is of course possible that at the time the photograph was taken 350 people were in the toilet, or something, but if you’re going to make a claim and attempt to back it up photographically it’s probably best to wait for everybody to get in shot! If anybody happens to find 350 SNP activists looking a bit lost, please let Alex Salmond know.
