Conservative MP Nadine Dorries, 52, is under pressure today to back up claims she made on Twitter and to newspapers that she had twice been a victim of sexual harassment at the hands of unnamed Labour MPs.
Michael Connarty, MP for Linlithgow and Falkirk East, told the Daily Record: “It seems she is trying to make political capital by traducing the good name of Scottish MPs. I am quite insulted that she is throwing this mud at all of us.
“Unless she can name the person concerned and prove it happened, I’ll be asking the Speaker to call for her to make a public apology to Scottish Labour MPs, particularly those who are married.”
Dorries, who famously claimed that MPs might commit suicide because of the pressure the expenses scandal had put them under, made the claims in retaliation for revelations that 71 year old Tory Grandee Nicholas Winterton slapped a Labour MP’s bottom.
