National Minimum Wage increases come into force today

The LabourBoy blog reminds us that Labour’s National Minimum Wage increases come into force today:

“Up to £5.73 an hour for the over 21s. Iain Duncan Smith, the man who David Cameron has thanked as turning the Conservatives into the party of ’social justice’, voted against it’s introduction, as did approximately 106 other Conservative MPs.”

It is also the day when the planned 2p increase in fuel duty was to have taken affect until it was abandoned by the Chancellor.
