“Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling are more trusted on the economy than David Cameron and George Osborne, a poll for Daily Politics suggests.
When asked who people trust most to steer Britain’s economy through the current downturn, 36% of those polled said Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling; 30% said David Cameron and George Osborne; with only 5% of those polled saying Nick Clegg and Vince Cable.
Almost a quarter (24%), said they didn’t know.
Summer polling on economic competence had seen the Conservatives take a lead over Labour.”
