The Tories have taken a “vow of silence” over Welsh devolution

Welsh Assembly member Lesley Griffiths has renewed Labour’s attack on the Conservatives over their “vow of silence” over Welsh devolution. Writing for Labour Outlook, Lesley Griffiths says that “superficially, one could be forgiven for believing there was a new wind of openness blowing through Welsh Conservatism. The reality, however, is very different. Indeed their devolution policy is unravelling with every day that passes.” She also claims that “the fact is, Welsh Tories are seriously divided on devolution and this compounded by the apparent willingness of David Cameron to allow the views his of devo-sceptic MPs to be interpreted as the official Tory line on such matters.”
