Tories need of “an injection of political Viagra” says defecting Councillor

The The Whitehaven News reports:

A Copeland councillor has defected to Labour because he says the Tories are in urgent need of “an injection of political Viagra”.

Robin Pitt was elected by the people of Millom and Newtown to represent them 18 months ago as a Conservative. But this week the former leader of Lambeth Council confirmed to The Whitehaven News that he intends to represent the ward in Labour colours.

Council and Labour leader Elaine Woodburn said: “Coun Pitt will be welcomed into the Labour group once he has been accepted as a member of the Labour Party. He has finally seen the light.”
