Tories undermine their own supporters with video of Green’s offices being searched

As soon as news broke that Tory frontbencher Damian Green had been arrested, the commentariat was quick to highlight that “anti-terrorist police” undertook the search of his offices and home, painting a picture of “heavy handed” armoured, and perhaps armed, police running roughshod over an “MP doing his job”.

Today however the Conservatives released video showing the search of Mr Green’s House of Commons office on their own website. Instead of rudeness it is the civility of the plain-clothed police personnel which is striking. So much so, we’re going to link to the video so you can see for yourself that the police were far from the storm troopers we were lead to believe they were.
