Winchester Council by-election to be held after Lib Dem steps down

There will be a Winchester City Council by-election in September to decide who should replace Liberal Democrat Councillor James Wagner who has announced that he is to quit. The By-Election will be held on Thursday 25 September 2008. Labour won just 73 votes in the Colden Common and Twyford ward in 2006. The victorious Lib Dem took 971 votes and the Conservative candidate 850 votes.
