Hundreds of local people support Labour campaign for pedestrian bridge

Labour’s petition for a new pedestrian footbridge at the junction of the North Circular Road with Brentfield Road has already attracted over 600 signatures from local residents. The petition was launched by campaigning local Labour councillors Ann John, Colum Moloney and Zaffar Van Kalwala, supported by local Labour MP Dawn Butler, in the aftermath of the tragic death of local child Richie McDonagh.

The campaigners are continuing to collect signatures which they hope will force Brent Council and Transport for London into taking action to improve public safety and prevent further deaths.

Labour Councillor Colum Moloney said:

“How many more deaths must there be before the authorities take action? As a very minimum we need a pedestrian footbridge at the junction of the North Circular Road with Brentfield Road. Instead of funding unwanted road narrowing schemes in Kingsbury, the Council and TfL should find the money to improve public safety in the North Circular Road.”
