Following a YouGov poll in today’s Evening Standard a spokesperson for Ken Livingstone said: “We do not provide a running commentary on polls, because the only poll that matters is on May 3rd, but it is absolutely clear that the Mayoral race is wide open.
“Londoners need a mayor who is on the side of ordinary Londoners. Ken’s grassroots-driven campaign has struck a chord with the electorate. All of our work on the doorstep tells us that the single biggest issue in the London election is Ken’s plan to cut fares, a promise with wider appeal than any other single commitment in the campaign. That’s because Londoners need someone who will work to help their cost pressures down and will stand up for them in tough times, not a part-time mayor who makes them less well off.”
