Ken signs ‘One Job Mayor’ pledge and challenges Boris Johnson follow

Ken Livingstone has today signed a pledge promising to be a one job, full-time Mayor of London if elected in May. At this afternoon’s Older People’s hustings, Ken has just offered Boris Johnson the opportunity to sign the same pledge.

The pledge states:

One job and one job only – a full-time Mayor

The job of Mayor of London is one of the most important in British public life, a full-time job that requires the full attention of whoever holds that post.

If I am elected Mayor, I pledge that I will be a full-time Mayor.

I will have no other jobs or paid work for the entire four years of my Mayoralty.
