Paul Blomfield, Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for Sheffield Central, attended a demonstration yesterday outside the Town Hall to oppose the Lib Dem Council’s decision to withdraw funding from Sheffield Race Equality Council.
Paul Blomfield sharply criticised the Council’s decision to withdraw funding from Sheffield Race Equality Council saying:
“For 42 years Sheffield Race Equality Council has played an important role in challenging racism and supporting those facing discrimination. It’s completely wrong for the Council to pull the Race Equality’s Council funding and withdraw their support, particularly at a time when race relations have been put under strain after the election of a BNP MEP.”
