Ozzie Owl gives Angela Smith MP a helping wing!

Owls mascot and Local MP hails the winners of her Christmas Card Competition.

Saturday 12th December saw Angela Smith MP and Sheffield Wednesday mascot Ozzie Owl give out prizes to the winners of Angela’s Christmas card competition.

The competition run in conjunction with local primary schools provides Angela with her official Christmas card and the chance for the lucky winners to have their picture on the card.

The winners received an art set and tickets to both Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United football matches.

Commenting on this year’s competition, Angela said:

“I would like to thank all those children who took part in this year’s competition and also all the schools who allowed the children to take part. A special thank you must also go out to all the companies who donated the money which made it all possible.

“I would also like to thank Ozzie Owl for coming along and giving out the prizes and making our presentation event so special for the kids. There is no doubt he proved popular with the kids and was a great ambassador for Sheffield Wednesday.

“The winning cards have now gone out to almost 2000 people, both within the constituency and further a field.

Well done to everyone who took part!”
