Sheffield Labour Group are backing this Saturday’s WWF’s Earth Hour in which people, businesses and iconic buildings around the world, such as Sheffield’s very own Town Hall, will be switching off their lights for one hour at 8.30pm.
Labour Councillors have signed up in support of Earth Hour and urge the people of Sheffield to join in and do the same to help tackle climate change.
Labour Environment Spokesperson, Helen Mirfin-Boukouris, said:
“It would be great if as many people as possible across Sheffield could turn their lights off for just 60 minutes to raise awareness of climate change.
“Climate change is a global threat and requires global action. That’s why from Fulwood to Fir Vale, and from Sheffield to Seattle, people will be uniting to deliver a truly global event – The Earth Hour.”
