Labour’s campaign against plans to introduce ticket barriers at Sheffield station has received a welcome boost after the Sheffield City Council Planning Board rejected East Midlands Trains’ proposal.
Speaking after yesterday’s decision by a Sheffield City Council Planning Board, Paul Blomfield, Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for Sheffield Central, said:
“This is a victory for the people of Sheffield. We’ve fought a long campaign against the proposal for ticket barriers and now we’ve got the right result. I urge East Midlands Trains to now respect today’s decision and give up their plan for barriers at Sheffield Station.”
