John Denham MP seeks urgent meeting with new Oasis Academy Principal

Southampton Itchen Labour MP John Denham is seeking a meeting as soon as possible with the new Principal of the Oasis Academy Mayfield. The new Principal, John Toland, took over at the Academy following the resignation of the previous Principal, Ruth Johnson, earlier today.

Last Friday John Denham held a meeting for parents of students at the Academy and admitted he was shocked by what he had heard. He said:

“About 100 parents came to the meeting and I was shocked that they all had similar stories about the problems at the school. I already had a meeting scheduled with the previous Principal and I am now trying to bring this forward with the new Principal.”
