Hundreds of mature trees are being planted in Stoke-on-Trent to create an impressive entrance for visitors.
The trees are being planted along Potteries Way and Town Road, in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.
The work is part of multi-million pound improvement plans for Potteries Way with new lighting, image panels and shrubbery all planned. It is also the first of many improvements in the North Staffordshire Regeneration Partnership’s (NSRP) £1.5 billion transformation plans.
Labour and Co-operative Party City Councillor Adrian Knapper, Stoke-on-Trent City Council portfolio holder for regeneration, said:
“Potteries Way is the gateway to the city centre.
“By improving the outlook of the approach it helps to create a sense of importance and pride in the city centre that is located at the heart of the Potteries.”
