Following David Cameron’s comments last night (Friday), Douglas Alexander, Labour’s Shadow Foreign Secretary said:
“Given David Cameron’s history of flouncing out of the room, claiming a veto has been exercised, and then the thing going ahead anyway, he’s not in a very strong place to start boasting about vetoes.
“He should be focussed on securing Britain’s interests, not just on trying to secure headlines.
“There is no question of a financial transactions tax being imposed on Britain against our wishes, so this is all just hot air and bluster.”
