Eagle: Tories have made fundamental error of judgement

Angela Eagle MP, Labour’s Treasury Minister, responding to George Osborne’s speech this morning, said:

“George Osborne has missed another opportunity to admit the Tories have made a fundamental error of judgement in failing to support the growing international consensus that governments need to invest to stimulate their economies during the global downturn.

“At a time when America and Germany are gearing up to launch big fiscal stimulus packages, the Conservatives should admit they were wrong to oppose Labour’s plans to give real help now – when families and businesses need it most.”
