Labour Party to establish a board of Assistant Treasurers
Jack Dromey, Labour Party Treasurer, today announced that the Labour Party has established a Board of Assistant Treasurers to enhance the income generating capacity of the Party. The Board’s purpose will be to oversee the fundraising activities of the party and to help and enhance its performance.
The Board, which will meet for the first time next week, is a further indication of the Party’s new approach to financial matters and how it will be gearing up to be prepared for a General Election whenever it is called.
Jack Dromey made the announcement during his Treasurer’s report to the Labour Party Annual Conference in Brighton.
Jack Dromey said:
“I am looking forward to working with the Assistant Treasurers to upgrade our income generating work. I am very pleased that we have people from business serving in posts in the Party and working with Trade Union colleagues to help the Party meet its financial needs.”
