Road traffic officers have begun working along the A55 road in an effort to keep traffic moving along whilst police officers deal with more serious issues elsewhere.
Vale of Clwyd AM Ann Jones has campaigned tirelessly for the scheme that was already running in England to be replicated in Wales in order to clear up the frequent accidents that occur on the 80 mile stretch.
Ann Jones AM said:
“I am pleased to see that this new service has already helped clear this busy and important arterial route.
“We have seen far too many crashes along this road – two stories appeared yesterday alone, I hope this pilot will prove successful so we can make the scheme permanent as soon as possible. Road users deserve this enhanced safety. Small accidents can lead to disasters on such a fast moving route so the quicker we can get things moving again without injury, the better.”
