Westminster Councillors support new community activities in Church Street

Church Street Labour Councillors Barbara Grahame and Aziz Toki are supporting four more local projects as part of the Ward Budget.

Councillor Barbara Grahame said:

“These four new projects will improve life for Church Street residents of all ages across the ward and will bring real benefits to local people.”

The four projects are:

* £5,000 for outdoor sports activities to be commissioned through Westminster City Council’s Sports Unit

* £5,000 for gardening activities for elderly Asian women living in Church Street and coordinated through the Community Outreach Worker who is also funded through the Ward Budget

* £10,000 for a window box project to encourage residents to install and utilise window boxes in their homes, to learn about gardening and to help to beautify the local area

* £500 to run a small scale gardening project to expand the local nursery garden managed by CityWest Homes
