Westminster Labour calls for urgent action to refurbish long vacant Queen’s Park houses

Queen’s Park Labour Councillors Paul Dimoldenberg, Mushtaq Qureshi and Barrie Taylor have called for urgent action to refurbish seven long-vacant houses on the Queen’s Park Estate so that local families living in overcrowded conditions can get the chance of a new home.

The long-vacant houses are at:

57 and 113 Kilravock Street;
33 Nutbourne Street;
14, 76 and 129 Oliphant Street;
58 Fifth Avenue.

Councillor Paul Dimoldenberg, Queen’s Park Labour Councillor, said:

“It is a scandal that Westminster Conservatives have allowed these houses to remain vacant for so long when there are so many local residents living in overcrowded conditions. It is such a waste of perfectly good houses and the empty houses are a blight on the local environment, too. Also, thousands of pounds of public money is being wasted in lost rent and rates.”
